Writing Posts for an International Community can be FUN !

You too can write short posts which will be posted in our Community News section and also displayed on the front page under Breaking News.

Your post will first be moderated and then put into Community News where other visitors can read it and add their comments. We ask that these articles be related to France or France Travel. This includes posts about language, culture or other subjects relative to this magazine’s emphasis.

We suggest you click on Print This Page above before continuing to have these instructions in front of you as you move to other pages in this process.

Here are the instructions how to set yourself up as a Community News member:

Attention! – This will only take a minute and it’s not complicated.

1. Click Log in at the bottom of main Assistance France TRAVEL MAGAZINE web page

2. Click Register in the middle of screen

3. Enter your chosen Username and a valid E-mail address, then click Register

A password will be sent to this E-mail address which you will use with your chosen Username to Log in to the Article posting system for the first time. We say for the first time because after you have Logged In you will be able to change this very cryptic password sent to you by the WordPress program.

4. Get your TRAVEL MAGAZINE password from your E-mail and re-Log in with your chosen Username and newly acquired password

5. Arriving at the TRAVEL MAGAZINE  Dashboard click Profile on the left column

6. Scroll down to New Password and enter new password that will be easier to remember. Notice that you must enter it twice to confirm, then click Update Profile.

We would suggest that you do nothing in the tools section also on left column.

7. Click Posts on left column, then click Add New.

8. At top far right click Screen Options and click on check box to the left of all options except Categories. All options at top should be unchecked except the Categories option. This will simplify the writing of your articles.

9. Re-click Screen Options box under options on right. You will now have the simplified screen.

10. Click on Title bar under Add New Post and type in the Title of your new article. Next tab to Article content area where you can type in your article.

11. When you have completed your article, in the Categories section to the far right, scroll to click on Community News.

12. Click Submit for Review

13. Click on Posts on left column and you will see your article listed as Pending.

Note: If you had clicked save Draft instead of Submit for Review, your article would be listed under Posts as Draft. This allows you to select an article to Edit that you had not completed and of course, has not yet been sent for review and approval.

14. Click Log out at the top far right of screen.

Note: When you re-Log in you will find that all your option changes have been put into effect and you start with the simplified screen.
