My view on France

I worked in France for 2 years as a tour guide. The #1 tip I always gave my clients before we arrived in France was to make a small effort to speak some French. While 99% of French people a tourist encounters on the typical French tour can speak English, the level of service often increased proportionate to the effort that the tourist made when asking for something. Even if you can master the phrase “Parlez vous anglais ?” which means “Can you speak English ?”
